Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) was established in 2002 and named after Blessed Virgin Mary. The institute is managed by the Devamatha Province of CMI Congregation, founded by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. AIMS is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, Kerala.

Selection for MBBS Admission is based on the NEET UG All India Rank (AIR). Once the results are published, candidates must visit the Medical Counselling committee’s (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in) to participate in All India Deemed University UG counselling. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi, conducts the counselling.
The candidates have to produce the original certificates and documents at the time of counselling for the verification.
