Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) was established in 2002 and named after Blessed Virgin Mary. The institute is managed by the Devamatha Province of CMI Congregation, founded by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. AIMS is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, Kerala.
It is a multidisciplinary medical network of pedagogical, therapeutic, research, and outreach programs. The medical institute brings together a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest standards of medical treatment.

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for MBBS from the Amala Institute of Medical Sciences:
- Students should have completed the minimum age of 17 years on or before the 31st day of December of the year of admission.
- Candidates should have completed 10+2 with at least 50% marks (40% in case of SC/ST) in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology together.
- The candidate must have qualified for the NEET entrance exam.

Admission procedure
Selection for MBBS Admission is based on the NEET UG All India Rank (AIR). Once the results are published, candidates must visit the Medical Counselling committee’s (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in) to participate in All India Deemed University UG counselling. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), New Delhi, conducts the counselling.
The candidates have to produce the original certificates and documents at the time of counselling for the verification.
