Established in 2002, the AJ institute of medical sciences (AJIMS) and research centre is a promising and brilliant venture of the Laxmi Memorial Trust. The institute aimed to provide a global perspective of medical education to achieve the national objective of “Health for All”.

AJIMS is one of the quality colleges in the medical field in Mangalore that has experienced professionals and well-equipped equipments. This college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognised by the NMC.

With the vision to provide medical studies to all aspiring students from all parts of the world, the college is established on 30 acres of the completed construction area.   • AJ Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre is dedicated to quality and equality; thus, the selection is strictly NEET merit-based.
  • The institute offers 5.5 years (including one year of mandatory rotational internship to provide practical exposure in their clinics) of undergraduate course MBBS.
  • The college intakes 150 people for each batch in an academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 12th Standard or equivalent examination approved by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the mandatory subjects, with at least 50% marks in aggregate of optional subjects.
  • The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as of 31st December of the year of admission.
  • The candidate must have qualified for the NEET entrance exam.

  • 12th standard equivalent marks card / pass certificate – Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • 10th standard pass certificate for proof of date of birth – Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended – Original + 3 attested photocopies.
  • Conduct certificate from the institute last attended – Original only.
  • Eligibility certificate issued by the Register, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore ( separate application is to be made to the RGUHS )
  • Migration certificate from the Board of the institution last studied.
  • Valid Passport and Student VISA for the period of study.
  • Proof of employment abroad of the parent (if the student has studied in India).
  • Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
  • Blood Group Certificate.
  • Photographs – Passport size 05, stamp size 05.

Admission procedure

  • Step 1: The admission process is simple; the first step is to qualify for the NEET examination.

    Step 2: The candidates must register online at Dr NTR University of Health Sciences for the counselling process and choose the colleges they want to join.

    Step 3: After counselling, candidates can apply at the college website by filling out the admission application form and submitting the fees. The college will allot seats and perform document verification. Eligible and selected candidates are required to pay fees to start their education at AJIMS college.

Scholarship Program

There is no direct scholarship program by the college. Eligible students can get scholarships as per the government schemes, subject to the central/state government rules.


A total of 100 seats are available for MBBS students in an academic year.

The college has an active placement cell to provide job opportunities after PG courses.

The annual course fee of MBBS is around Rs 12 lakh at FIMS Kadapa.
