It was established in 2012 as an ambitious project of the Hamdard National Foundation (HNF) aimed to increase its scope in the life sciences and health domains and provide quality healthcare at an affordable cost.

MBBS from Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Delhi
- Course duration: MBBS course includes a period of study extending over 4½ (Four & a half) academic years followed by 1 (one) year compulsory rotating Internship.
Seat intake: Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences allows 150 students for the MBBS course. Allocation of Seats in different categories No of Seats is as follows:
(A) Reserved (For Muslims only) 75 (B) Unreserved (Open) 53 (C) Non Resident Indians 22 Note- There is no management Quota/Seats in Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research; all seats (100%) are only pooled in the All India Quota (AIQ).
Admission criteria: Admission to the Undergraduate Courses (MBBS) at the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences shall be open to candidates who have qualified NEET exam.
Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualification:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, Council or University. They must have passed the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum of 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC) marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology taken together.Age:
The candidates must attain the minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December (the year candidates seek admission).Entrance exam:
Candidates must have qualified NEET examination.

Admission procedure
Step 1: Candidates’ names appearing in the NEET UG merit list issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), GOI, are only eligible for admission at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Jamia Hamdard.
Step 2: The Selected candidates have to undergo a medical examination. The medical examination shall be set up by a HIMSR Medical Board. If a candidate is found medically unfit in the assessment of the Medical Board, the information will be shared with the Medical Counselling Committee/ DGHS, and they will take the final decision.
Step 3: The candidates need to participate in the MCC UG-MBBS Counselling. Selected candidates will visit the college to complete the Physical Reporting formalities at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Jamia Hamdard.

No, HIMSR doesn’t take any direct admission. All admissions are through the All India NEET Medical Counseling Committee of DGHS, GoI, through NEET-UG counselling only.
There is scholarship provision at this moment.
Yes, separate hostels for both Boys and Girls are available within the campus.
There is no pre-booking of seats. Seats are allotted if they remain vacant per the guidelines issued by the MCC of DGHS under MoHFW, GoI and based on merit and physical presence of the candidate.
A candidate has to deposit a total Fee of Rs. 17,70,000 at the time of admission for the MBBS course.
