Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) is the first medical college in Uttarakhand. The college was established in December 1995 to make it a seat of excellence in learning and training medical students.

HIMS is affiliated with Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun. The institute offers MBBS, MD, and MS in various specialisations, super speciality programs, PhD programmes, Fellowship Programmes and Paramedical Programmes. The institute also publishes around 150 research papers every year in various national and international journals.

  • The course duration is a four-and-a-half-year plus 1-year compulsory rotational internship. The Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences conducts theory classes and provides clinical training as part of the course curriculum.

Eligibility Criteria

Must qualify NEET exam conducted in the same year.

The applicants must complete 17 years of age on 31st December of the academic year in which they seek admission.

  1. Admissions to an undergraduate medical-MBBS programme conducted at the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences shall only be made based on the merit of NEET-UG and common counselling conducted by the State Government.
