Karuna Medical College was established in 2006 as a part of the Karuna Institute of Medical Sciences by the Safe Development Alms Trust, Palakkad. The Safe Development Alms Trust is a registered Charitable Trust with its headquarters at Karuna Hospital Campus, Melamuri, Palakkad, Kerala. The medical college was started to fulfill all the needs in medical education.
Karuna Medical College is affiliated with Calicut University and recognized by NMC (earlier known as MCI) after October 2011.

A candidate must fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for MBBS from the Karuna Medical College:
Step 1: Candidates can visit the official portal of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, https://cee-kerala.org/, and register themselves for NEET Kerala State Counselling.
Step 2: At the time of counselling, the students have to choose the courses and colleges of their preference and lock in the preferences at the online portal.
Sep 3: The seat allotment status will be published online based on the availability of vacancies and the candidate’s choices.
Step 4: If you get the seat in the first round, you will be required to either reject the allotted seat or report to the allotted college and complete the admission formalities.
Step 5: Those who didn’t get the seat allotment have to complete the registration process and perform Fresh Choice Filling and Locking for the second round.
