Course duration: The MBBS course duration from Katihar Medical College is five and a half academic years (including one year of compulsory rotatory internship). Admission criteria: Admission to the Undergraduate Courses (MBBS) at the Katihar Medical College shall be open to candidates who have qualified NEET exam.
Education Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, Council or University. They must have passed the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum of 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC) marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology taken together.
Age: The candidates must attain the minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December (the year candidates seek admission).
Entrance exam: Candidates must have qualified NEET examination and obtained minimum marks of 50th (40th in case of SC/ST/OBC) percentile in the ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test’.
Step 1: Candidates need to pass NEET and submit an application online on the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) portal www.bceceboard.bihar.gov.in
Step 2: After online registration, candidates have to appear in counselling conducted by the Bihar government. During counselling, candidates will be selected for the allotment of seats.
Step 3: Shortlisted and selected candidates shall report to the institute along with all original documents and certificates as required.
● The students achieving the first position in the third professional MBBS Part-II (Final) examination will be awarded the Haji Ahmad Karim Rahmani Memorial Gold Medal.
● The students achieving 1st to 5th position in First Professional, Second Professional & Third Professional Part-I MBBS examinations will be awarded individual scholarships.
