The Mahaveer Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (MIMS), Bhopal, is an institution promoted by the Jain Sarvodaya Vidhya Gyanpith Samiti, Bhopal, a society registered under Madhya Pradesh Societies Registrikaran Adhiniyam 1973.
The institute is affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Some government scholarship programs provide scholarships for socially underrated students. Eligible students can avail of the scholarship from the government of Madhya Pradesh. As of now, the college has no direct scholarship programs.
Candidates can get admission by qualifying NEET-UG exam only.
The MCI permits 150 students for the MBBS course to admit every year.
