The Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Pondicherry (PIMS) is a unit of The Madras Medical Mission, a charitable society and hospital in Chennai. The institute is promoted by the members of the Malankara Orthodox Christian community.
PIMS is affiliated with Pondicherry University and is recognized by NMC for an increase of seats from 100 to 150 after November 2018. The institute’s vision is to create a medical school providing innovative medical education with international participation.
PIMS has a Medical College, Multi-Specialty Hospital, and a Nursing College that offers more than 20 courses in the medical stream, including MBBS, MD, and Nursing courses.
