The Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil Rural Medical College, since its inception in 1984, has been dedicated to serving society as a centre of excellence. Later, In 2003, Rural medical college attained the status of Deemed University. The college is focused on delivering meaningful medical education, research, and health care to society.

The medical college is affiliated with Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed University), Ahmednagar, and permitted an increase of seats from 125 to 200 by NMC.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Candidates must have passed the HSC (or equivalent) examination with the subject Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually and a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. However, for backward classes, it is 40% marks.
    Entrance exam:
    • Candidates in the general category should obtain a minimum of 50% (40% in case of backward classes) marks in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by the Deemed University. However, admission will be based on merit.
    Age criteria
    Candidates should be either 17 years of age or attain this age as of 31st December of the Academic year in which admission is sought

Admission procedure

  • Step 1: Candidates are required to register for the NEET UG exam at https://cetcell.net/UG_NEET_2021/ and qualify for the exam.

    Step 2: Qualified candidates need to participate in common counselling for admission to MBBS Courses in all Medical Education Institutions, and they will be allotted seats.

    Step 3: Candidates allotted seats through counselling need to visit the college with their allotment letter and get their admission confirmation letter.

    Note:
    • The State shall conduct the counselling for all admission to MBBS Course, and such Common Counselling shall be under the overall superintendence, direction, and control of the State.
    • There will be no U.G. admission being done at the college level. All admission will be made by the Commissionerate Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai.
