BNYS, the full form is Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences an undergraduate degree focussing on naturopathy and the use of yoga in treating bodily ailments. Naturopathy is also known as, alternative form of medicine which does not use drugs or medicines to prevent or heal. Yoga uses the techniques of breathing, meditation and asanas to do the same. It is a 4.5 year of course along with one year of internship and those who have finished the class with Physic, Chemistry and Biology as the subjects. Naturopathy aims to heal the body through its own healing process, also called ‘self-healing.
Counselling among others some therapies employed in the process include acupuncture, massage, and nutrition. Studies the use of yoga to provide a healthy stable life. It mainly uses meditation, asanas and breathing exercises to do this. The average fee of this course lies between INR 7,000 – 50,000. After the graduation of the course, the student can pursue private practice as General Practitioners, practice at State/ Local Medical Councils as per the laws of Indian Constitutional Acts in medicine.
