Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences (SMC) is a private medical college, a unit of
Tadikela Subbaiah Trust, Shimoga, Karnataka. The trust was formed in the year 2003 by
Sri. T. Subbaramaiah, an agriculturist.
The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka and
approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Currently, the college offers
courses leading to Medical, Nursing and Dental degrees.
Talking about the Subbaiah hospital, it is fully equipped with advanced technology that
provides adequate opportunities to the students to interact with patients and gain practical
clinical experience. Additionally, the Institute also has a well-equipped, hi-technology
