Established in 2020, Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW), Pune, is the exclusive Medical College for Women under the Faculty of Health Sciences. The college was established to empower women and contribute to nation-building by increasing the number of female doctors.
SMCW is affiliated with Symbiosis International (Deemed) University, Pune and has permission to renew 150 seats for the academic year 2022-23. Qualifying exam: The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e., Higher Secondary Certificate or the equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology) with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. However, for the reservation categories, it is 40% marks.
Minimum age: The candidate’s minimum age should be 17 on 31st December, the year admission is sought.
Entrance exam: The candidate must pass NEET-UG with a merit score.
Step 1: Apply and qualify for NTA-NEET.
Step 2: Apply for online MCC counselling at https://mcc.nic.in/.
Step 3: Candidates seeking provisional admission for MBBS Programme at SMCW have to register on the MCC website under Deemed University for General/NRI category by paying the registration fees.
Step 4: Subsequent to the registration and payment, candidates will participate in Choice Filling, Locking and Seat Allotment process.
Step 5: Once seats are allotted at SMCW, Candidates have to visit the college IN PERSON along with all required documents for completion of admission formalities.
The college provides scholarships under the Dr Anandi Gopal Scholarship program. Under this scholarship program, the top 5 girl students who qualify for the NEET exam with merit and get admission to MBBS Programme at Symbiosis Medical College for Women will be awarded a scholarship each year.
As per the scholarship program, the entire academic fees for all the years of the MBBS programme will be waived off.

The college has only 2 categories: 1. General and 2. NRI. There are no seats for the reserved category. Further, all admissions are merit-based only.
