Vinayaka Missions Medical College was established in 1999 by (Late) Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram. The medical college is affiliated with Vinayaka Missions University (Deemed), Salem, and has permission for the renewal of 100-150 seats for the academic year 2022-23.
Vinayaka Mission’s Medical College and Hospital received permanent recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI) in 2003. Further, the medical college has an inbuilt 590 bedded hospital.

Admission procedure
Step 1: Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS Degree program in Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute must qualify for NEET and register for the counselling at the MCC of DGHS website: www.mcc.nic.in -> UG Medical Counselling.
Step 2: All the candidates who have been allotted MBBS seats through centralized counselling conducted by the MCC of DGHS, Government of India, New Delhi, are required to report and complete the admission process within the date and time specified in the “Allotment Letter” issued by the MCC of DGHS.
