MDS


Overview


Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course is a master level degree for students who have graduated in Dental Science. MDS degree as recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI) is offered in various specializations including Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Periodontology, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, and Oral Medicine and Radiology.


Dentistry is a part of Medicines that will stop the disease effects occurring on the teeth. It is two years for those who have a Postgraduate Diploma to be recognized under DCI. Students who opt and improve their research skills in the dental area should go for an MDS Course.

Program Details


MDS is a 3 years post-graduation course after BDS that deals with the study of development, anatomy, and diseases of the teeth. Students who wish to do research related to teeth can opt for MDS after BDS. The MDS program promotes the development of critical analysis, research skills, and advanced clinical skills to improve the student in the field of dentistry.


Online degree


It is possible to become a dentist by taking online courses, in choice areas or degrees. After this, one must obtain certification from the necessary regulating bodies.

Educational requirements and admission


minimum marks in the qualifying degree examination for admissions to MDS course, 55% marks in aggregate of all subjects in BDS course.

You must be at least 21 years old to take admission in the MDS course. Hence you can apply for the entrance test of AICET.


Median salary


As MDS graduates have a lot of value, their salary is also expected to be high. MDS graduate's average salary is INR 8 Lakh per annum.
